Courela dos Aleixos Tinto

$0.00

This wine is the result of a blend of three grape varieties: Aragonês (40%), Trincadeira (40%) and Touriga-Nacional (20%), all planted in the same plot – “Narra Reds”. The different grape varieties were harvested according to the evolution of their maturation stage. Trincadeira and Aragonês are the earliest grape varieties to be harvested, and Touriga Nacional is the latest. Therefore, each fermentation process was individualised, but the processing was similar. The grapes were de-stemmed, crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26-28oC. A careful extraction was carried out, which is common to all fermentations, through a gentle process with light pumping over. After fermentation, the new wines remained separated, by varieties, in stainless steel. The final blend was made in the spring of 2023, followed by continued ageing in stainless steel tanks until July 2024, when it was bottled.

Producer: Adega Marel

Winemaker: Tiago Macena

Region: Alentejo (Granja Amareleja)

Style: Red

Grape Varietals: Aragonês, Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional

Tasting Notes:Visually, it has an intense, bright ruby color. The aroma has an intensity of ripe red and black fruit, added by a notable complexity due to notes of cherry and light herbal. Clean and exuberant aroma. In the mouth, it has excellent balance, presenting well-balanced acidity with good volume in the mouth. It's rich, textured and juicy. Finishes long and pleasant.

Pairing:Given its intensity and youthfulness, it becomes very versatile at the table. Accompanies charcuterie dishes, semi-cured sheep's cheese and grilled or oven-baked meats. Pasta and pizza also fit this profile well.
