West India Madeira 10 Years Old Reserve Boal Madeira Wine

$0.00

This 100% Boal Madeira originates from Madeira Island, Portugal, about 900 km southwest of Lisbon, where volcanic basalt soils and a subtropical climate with mild temperatures (22°C in summer, 16°C in winter) foster ideal growing conditions. Vineyards in Calheta, Estreito da Calheta, Arco da Calheta, Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, and Campanário employ Espalier or traditional Latada trellising systems. Grapes are hand-harvested from September to mid-October in selective passes, then destemmed, crushed, and pressed. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures and is stopped after 4–5 days by adding neutral grape spirit (96°) to preserve sweetness. The wine is aged in American and French oak casks using the traditional Canteiro system, then racked, fined, filtered, blended, and bottled, producing a rich, balanced Madeira with characteristic depth and sweetness.
