West India Madeira 10 Years Old Reserve Malvasia Madeira Wine

$0.00

This 100% Malvasia Madeira is produced on Madeira Island, Portugal, about 900 km southwest of Lisbon, where volcanic basalt soils and a subtropical climate with mild temperatures (22°C in summer, 16°C in winter) create ideal vine-growing conditions. Vineyards in São Jorge, Arco de São Jorge, Campanário, and Porto Moniz use traditional Latada or Espalier training systems. The grapes are hand-harvested from mid-September to mid-October in selective passes, then destemmed, crushed, and pressed. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks is halted after 2–3 days by adding neutral grape spirit (96°) to preserve natural sweetness. The wine is aged in American and French oak casks using the traditional Canteiro system, followed by racking, fining, filtering, blending, and bottling, resulting in a luscious, full-bodied Madeira with rich sweetness and complexity.
