West India Madeira 10 Years Old Reserve Sercial Madeira Wine

$0.00

This 100% Sercial Madeira is produced on Madeira Island, Portugal, about 900 km southwest of Lisbon, where volcanic basalt soils and a subtropical climate with mild humidity and moderate temperatures (22°C in summer, 16°C in winter) create ideal growing conditions. Vineyards in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, Seixal, Porto Moniz, Ponta Delgada, São Vicente, and Arco de São Jorge use traditional Latada or Espalier training systems. Grapes are hand-harvested from September to mid-October in selective passes, then destemmed, crushed, and pressed. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel at controlled temperatures and is stopped after 8–10 days by adding neutral grape spirit (96°) to preserve sweetness. The wine is then aged in American and French oak casks using the traditional Canteiro system, followed by racking, fining, filtering, blending, and bottling, yielding a refined, complex Madeira with elegant structure and balance.
